32nd ECNP Congress – Benefits for Early Career Scientists

Being an Early Career Scientist can be quite a challenge. ECNP recognises that, we are always looking for new ways to encourage you. For the 32nd ECNP Congress, we have a number of special activities to help you find your way, establish valuable contacts and have a fantastic congress experience!

Welcome Reception
Meet other Early Career Scientists at the designated area during the Welcome Reception.

Career Development Sessions

Training sessions featuring an engaging expert in the field, sharing with you their knowledge and experience. The topics are especially interesting for Early Career Scientists.

New Findings Symposium
As part of the scientific programme, eight Early Career Scientists who participated in the 2019 ECNP Workshop in Nice will present their data.

Science-on-the-Rocks

This special Early Career Scientist evening will take place in the city centre of Copenhagen. Programme: a pub quiz, drinks and social talk.

Members: host a brainstorming session

Deadline for submission is approaching!

We are currently accepting proposals for brainstorming sessions at the 32nd ECNP Congress taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 7-10 September 2019.

These sessions are small focused interactive sessions organised by ECNP members on a topic of their choice. The organiser of the session and a second expert in that specific field of interest will provide a short introduction and then initiate the discussion with the audience. In total, nine sessions can be organised (three in parallel) on Sunday 8, Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 September.

Call for sessions proposals

We have started to compile an exciting scientific programme with a broad range of topics for the 33rd ECNP Congress taking place in Vienna, on 12-15 September 2020.

Tell us what topic(s) you would like to see presented by sending us a complete session proposal.

 

You can submit a proposal for a full session in applied and translational neuroscience. The SPC also welcomes session proposals from allied disciplines, including neurology and psychology.

Neuropsycopharmacology Award: call for nominations

Submit your nomination on or before 29 January 2019.

The ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award recognises exceptional research achievements in applied and translational neuroscience. The award is granted each year, alternating between basic science and clinical research. The 2019 award will be in basic science research.

Prize: EUR 10,000, a commemorative statuette and certificate, and a chance to present a plenary lecture at the upcoming ECNP Congress.

The award winner is also invited to submit a review article for publication in European Neuropsychopharmacology.

ECNP School 2019 - apply now

The next ECNP School of Neuropsychopharmacology will take place on 30 June - 5 July 2019 in Oxford, United Kingdom.

This one-week residential course provides intensive training in all aspects of neuropsychopharmacology, from its fundamentals to the use of medications in individual indications, good clinical practice and optimal treatment algorithms. Early career clinicians will have an interactive week with an international faculty of experts.

All expenses, except travel cost, are covered by ECNP.

Upcoming ECNP Workshops

ECNP Workshop for Early Career Scientists in Europe, Nice, France

The aim of this Workshop is to stimulate high-quality experimental and clinical research in brain disorders and their treatments by promoting and encouraging the development of early career scientists.

It is a great opportunity for Early Career Scientists in Europe to come together with research leaders to discuss the latest advances and perspectives on specific topics.

Dates:

7-10 March 2019, (application is closed)
5-8 March 2020 (application will open in May 2019)

ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods
Barcelona, Spain

The ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods aims at introducing early career clinicians (psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, etc.) to research methodology and promote a critical thinking approach to the scientific literature that is particularly relevant to clinical practice.

A number of international renowned researchers share their professional experiences to help participants become familiar with the best practice principles of scientific research.

Application for the 2019 Workshop will open in February, there is a maximum of 50 places available.
